Cabanas 

encontra-se a 7 km de Tavira e a 18 km da fronteira espanhola à beira da Ria Formosa. Chega-se à praia em pequenos barcos. A praia com areia branca deslumbrante é larga e comprida (7 km). A maré é decisiva para a aparência de Cabanas; ora os barcos ficam na lama seca com a maré-baixa, ora flutuam num lago quieto e imenso. Cabanas era antigamente uma aldeia de pescadores, hoje é uma vila com varios grandes hoteis, e uma multidão de apartamentos para o turismo no verão.

Cabanas 

is situated on the shore of the Ria at 7 km from Tavira and 18 km from the Spanish border on the South Coast of Portugal.  To reach the wonderful white-sanded 7 km long beach of Cabanas you have to cross the lagoon in small boats. The tides characterize Cabanas. With low-tide all the boats lie idle on the shore, with hith-tide you stand in front of a big calm lake. Formerly Cabanas was a fisher's village, but nowadays it is quite touristic with several big hotels and lots and lots of new apartments. Cabanas could however keep its character of a village to a certain extent.

Cabanas 

liegt 7 km  von Tavira und 18 km von der spanischen Grenze entfernt an der Ria. Mit kleinen Booten setzt man über an den 7 km langen, blendend weissem Sandstrand. Die Ebbe und Flut prägen das Bild der Ria und des Dorfes; mal liegen die Boote im Trockenen, und dann in der vollen Ria. Früher war Cabanas ein Fischerdorf, heute lebt es vom Tourismus mit mehreren grösseren Hotel- und Appartement-Anlagen, hat aber den Charakter des gemütlichen Dorfes noch weitgehend behalten können.
